§ 23-116. Altering, damaging, etc. devices.

  • (a)

    No person shall, without lawful authority, attempt to or in fact alter, deface, injure, knock down or remove any official traffic control device or any railroad sign or signal or any inscription, shield or insignia thereon, or any other part thereof.

    (b)

    No person shall, except by proper authority, remove any barricade or obstruction placed by authority of the city to keep traffic off the pavement, street, curb, sidewalk or other area.

    (c)

    No person shall possess any audio, visual or radio device that will interfere with, circumvent or control any governmentally owned or operated traffic signal or traffic control device; provided that this prohibition shall not apply to occupants of governmentally operated emergency vehicles while within the scope of employment.

    (d)

    The penalty for any violation of any of the above subsections shall be that of a class A offense.
